The nursery is almost finished... and an update on the itty bitty :)

My Mom has been so wonderful with helping us create and design such a magical nursery on such a small budget! We have had a lot of fun decorating the walls and making the butterfly mobile that hangs above the changing table! My sweet Aunt Sara gave me some cardboard letters spelling out "Laugh" last time I was up visiting her in Utah and I am so glad I have finally been able to use them! We got some cute coordinating colored scrapbook paper and covered the letters, we then hung them above the closet! We just went crazy with hanging the vines and flowers on the wall behind the crib and then placing the little fuzzy bees and butterflies along the garland.

We have to still make the curtains and valances, one for the window and one for the closet and of course I have hung her name above the window but since we are still keeping it a secret there are no pictures of that just yet ;) I am planning on hanging up her name the day we head into the hospital... hopefully I will remember that!!

So here it is our whimsical garden nursery for our sweet itty bitty who is coming so soon! Actually because of all these contractions I have been having... quiet possibly within the next couple weeks... I have been talking with my Dr. and she doesn't like the fact that I am having contractions at all! If you all remember that was one of the leading causes of my hemorrhaging with Gigi... so the "plan" is to not go into labor at all.... since we have been having so many contractions there is a very good chance we will be having an emergency C-section before our scheduled date! Trust I will keep you posted... we have our next appt on Wednesday where we will be discussing the next step!

Week 34 and NO MORE BED REST :)

She has dropped recently and I LOVE all the room, less heartburn and less kicking in my ribs... I don't however  LOVE the constant trips to the bathroom ;)

It was so great talking with my Dr. today at the appt. She seemed a little hesitant to let me off of bed rest completely but trusted that I would be smart and be good to my body. She said we just have to make it to September 3rd.. two weeks from friday and then baby girl can come if she wants. Of course I am thinking... you had me on bed rest for 6 weeks... watch, this kid is going to wait until our scheduled C section. She did take the time to let me know that if I go into labor I need to inform the staff at the hospital of my failure to progress and post hemorrhaging... I am so thankful that my Dr. is really paying attention to all my signs and looking out for red flags. It really comforts me to know that she is going to do everything she can to make sure this is a smooth wonderful delivery with no traumatic repeats like the last one.

I am in my 34th week and I can't believe that I will be holding my baby girl NEXT MONTH! Now that I am off of bed rest, I am going to spend a lot of one on one time with Gigi and with David since I am pretty sure the minute this little girl arrives I won't want to put her down EVER! We are heading to IKEA to get some things for the nursery and then my Mom is coming over this week to help put the garland and flowers on the wall and get more done on the mobile.

Today was a VERY busy and FULL day... I am not going to push it... so I won't be cramming five things into my day anymore! I am going to take it slow and just enjoy each day I get to spend with my sweet little Gracie bug! I can't believe how fast she us growing up... lately she has learned a bajillion new words and she really enunciates each word... small short sentences... and replies to our questions... I can't believe I can have a conversation with this itty bitty! Today she learned the word Moose... and pronounced it so clearly... my sweet little baby is growing up and I can't believe how fast these past (almost) 2 years have flown by!

WE LOVE YOU ALL!

Nursery Makeover Part 2 :)

After the paint was finished drying we brought in the furniture. We had to do some switching around of dressers, desks, etc in order to make everything fit and I am really happy with how it turned out. We put our desk and bookshelf in Gigi's room since it matches her new bed and brought the desk from the office into our room.
Gracelyn LOVES having a big girl room!! **Notice her Minnie Mouse is swaddled... this is something she has me do constantly throughout the day **

Then, we moved the glider into the nursery along with the crib pieces. Gracelyn helped me put the crib together today while Daddy was at work!

I love this one because she is really trying to use the allen wrench and tighten the bolts :)

Once David came home from work he helped me put the bottom on and raise the bar so that the mattress would sit at the highest level.

It is starting to look more like a nursery. We still have a lot of work to do one it. This week my Mom and I are going to pick out the fabric for the curtains, and I have to get the bumper. We also have to add all the flower garland and daisies that are going to hang behind the crib... can't wait to see more progress on it!!!

I also spend today taking the infant seat apart and washing each piece and putting it back together. I also washed all the sheets, blankets and packed a bag for the hospital for her along with three different types of headbands bows and flowers to match her hospital outfits :) I am getting sooo excited!!

My amazing Mom and I saw this mobile in a magazine that we fell in love with so we are creating it on our own. This is the first tier ... isn't it perfect for her Whimsical garden theme :)

Today was the first time I was able to stand in the hallway and look into both my girl's rooms! I can't wait to have two sleeping babies in them :)

Nursery makeover Part 1 :)

Gracelyn watched Veggie Tales with ALL her friends while we all worked on projects!

David had the day off and so we decided to start moving the furniture out of the office. My sister, her hubby and my Mom were so nice to come over and help since I couldn't do much. The guys got straight to moving the furniture out of the room... just seeing it empty started to make me excited!! Originally we were going to do the top half of the room in white and then the bottom in chocolate, but after thinking about it with the black furniture and the lavender and sage green colors we started thinking again. David's parents went out and got the paint and paired up the light mocha with lavender beautifully. After much thought and ideas from everyone we went ahead and just painted the whole room light mocha. I am so glad we did now!
You can see the drywall is visible where the paint was stripped under the window due to rain damage.

Tommy was great at taping off the walls.

The MEN painting!!

Finished!! I LOVE it! Thank you to David's parents who picked out the perfect color!!
Pretty!!

Stay tuned for more as we transition this room into a whimsical magical garden!! I can't wait :)

**Thank you Tommy, Ashlee and Mom who came out for the day to help us! We are so thankful for you guys! **

My sweet girl :)

My sweet little G baby!
I can't get enough of this sweet thing. I really think she is starting to understand having a little sister because not only do we talk about it all the time and show her all her sister's things but she has been SO clingy lately with ME! She has always wanted to snuggle with her daddy and jump into his arms the min... no the second he walks in the door with hands full and all... but never with Mommy. Of course this has just melted my heart every time she now chooses for me to hold her and even more when she lays her head on my chest... we have been enjoying our one on one time coloring, crafting, dancing, cleaning, watching things bake in the oven and of course snuggling on the couch!! I can't believe how big she is getting... just recently she has started to like getting her hair done so we have been playing around with fun different styles and Daddy even joined in once!! Here are some pictures of her new styles :)

I just LOVE her natural curls... wish she would have shared some with me :)

Daddy's idea of piggies!! So cute!!!

She loves to swaddle Minnie every... oh... 5 seconds and rock her in the rocking chair :)

Is it just me or does she look older and bigger... sniff sniff :(

David and I are very excited for her to become a big sister in just 7 more weeks!!! Hopefully soon we can start on the nursery... then it will start feel more real I am sure! Stay tuned for the transformation of our very empty office into "Lavender Elegance" a nursery made for a VERY loved baby sister!!!

Heading into Week 32!!

I went to my Dr's Appt today and was very happy with what she had to say about the baby. Everything is looking good, no evident progress!! Since I am showing no signs of pre term labor she is placing me on a 2 week trial of "light" bed rest and then if everything continues to go well she will take me off completely at my next appt :) I am sure you can imagine how excited I am to be able to leave the house again. Of course she doesn't want me to over do it so I can run an errand here and there but no grocery shopping just yet and  I have to stop working since I have a VERY active job!!! I can handle two more weeks because I know if i am good then I will have complete freedom!!!! Of course that means I will be able to start working on the nursery which is still an office just a very empty office, and I can go to church again!

Thank you for all your prayers!! Obviously they are being heard and this little girl is going to most likely wait until her scheduled C- section date!! I can't believe we will be having another baby next month! It seems like it is just around the corner!!
