It is tradition every year to meet for a beautiful brunch at the Ritz Carleton. There we exchange gifts and limericks. I LOVE MY FAMILY!

Utah State Capital

While in Utah we took a day to go and visit my aunt at the state capital. They has just remodeled it and we were some of the first to see the new building!

Our Honeymoon !!

David and I were so blessed to be able to spend our honeymoon on the beautiful island of Maui! We had a beautiful cozy little condo that overlooked the gorgeous ocean.

Tuesday: We had breakfast out on our balcony and began our devotional. Watched some Newlyweds went down to the beach for a little while and then got a couple's massage. David asked for a deep tissue and I decided on a loma loma swedish massgae. We came back to the condo and I made bowtie pasta for dinner that we ate out on our lanai.

Wednesday: Had breakfast out on the lanai. David got up early and made cheesy eggs and bacon MMmm. We read our Devo and then went SHOPPING!! David told me this day was all about me. Of course we made a stop at Starbucks first and then we were on our way!!! We went to some art galleries and some jewelry stores and that is where David got me the beautiful necklace. It is a hawaian flower that means love with a gorgeous diamond in it representing love forever. It is so special to me and I am honored to wear it every day. After that we went home, watched Newlyweds and went to the grocery store. Everything there is SO expensive but so worth it. David ended up grilling Salmon I fried zuchinni. We also had some shrimp cocktails.. Sooooo Goood!

Thursday: We had to wake up early and drive out to Wailaya for our snorklign adventure. We hit up the Molokai Crater and saw so many beautiful fish. The water may have been cold but it sure was clear. After an hour of that we got back on the boat and ate lunch as they took us to another location close to the Maui Prince. We anchored just off shore and got out into the cold water again. I was amazed to actuallly be swimming with sea turtles!!! After our voyage we headed back to the Maui Prince and went to the shops in Wailaya. We got some cool souviners and things for our family then headed home for pizza, pasta and more Newlyweds.

Friday: We had breakfast again outside and read our book, then got suited up and headed down to the beach for some snorkling and sunning. We saw some fish but it was really cloudy and freezng cold. David continued to snorkel while I layed out until it began to rain on us. We took cover and went back to our warm and cozy condo to watch Troy! Great movie!! After the movie we got dressed up for our dinner cruise. We set sail at four on a gorgeous boat. We enjoyed the great chicken , fish and salad bar and some yummy mai tais!! We sailed on the ocean as we watched the amazing sunset. Perfect way to end the day!

Saturday: We had our usual breakfast and a devo and then went down to the pool to lay out and read. It was sprinkling here and there and when it began to rain harder we went back up to the room. Later that afternoon we went to the Lahaina Stables for some horseback riding! David rode a horse named "Frita" and I rode "Pua" meaning flower. We took an hour trail up to the top of the mountain then stopped for snacks and drinks as we trotted back down the hill we were able to see yet another beautiful hawiian sunset. We got back to the condo made dinner and then David made us some mudslides which we took down to the jacuzzi. A relaxing way to end the day!

Sunday: We were able to find a local Calvary church located right on the beach and enjoyed a great sermon. Even though we kept getting distracted by sea turtles, we had a great service. After church, we went home and watched BEhind enemy lines... great movie but very intense!! I had to watch it for David since he was so willing to watch Newlyweds EVERDAY! We went to bed around 8:30 so we could get up at midnight at drive out to Halaakala the Volcano to watch the sunrise. We got to the top by 3:30 and sat with the top down watching shooting stars. I saw 2 and then fell asleep. David stayed up the whole time and saw so many! As the sun rose around 5:45 we stood there (shivering) 30 degrees and 10,000 feet in elevaton...in awe!! How majestic it was to see the sun and be sooooo high above the clouds when it rose!! What an amazing memory. We got back to the condo and slept hahaha from 9am. to 1:00. We then watched another movie and had a great evening.

Monday: HOME WE FLEW!! on SEPTEMBER 11th...
What a great honeymoon!!

The wedding night ;)

David and I stayed at The Pointe at Tapatillo Cliffs the night of our wedding. After leaving the reception we ended up running around trying to hunt down someones car where David had put his suitcase. We went back to the church and the car wasn't there, we went through the drive though at Whataburger and grabbed a bite to eat then headed out to his parents house where apparently the suitcase had been taken. After finally arriving at the hotel we were shuttled to our room. The door opened and candles were lit, roses lined the floor and bed and a bottle of champagne was sitting on the table. It was beautiful! David was so thoughtful to arrange it for me.

The rest of night is a secret ;)

Some fun pictures from the wedding!

September 1, 2007

On a hot yet wonderful saturday in july, David and I exchanged vows and committed ourselves to one another before friends, family and before our Lord.

We both decided to write our own vows, to make it more personal and unique.

David's vows to Amanda

"Amanda Shea Evans... Until you were brought into my life, I felt incomplete just as Adam must have felt in the garden before God gave him Eve. Then, when I least expected it, you looked my way and my life was forever changed. You are my friend, my soulmate, my one true love. Today I make you this solemn vow before our friends and family and before God that I will cherish you all the days of my life... in days of triumph and days of defeat, in days of plenty and in days of want, in days of wellness and in days of failing health, and in joy as well as sorrow... No matter what our future holds for us, I promise o love and respect you unconditionally until I breathe my last breath."

Gracious! It was the most amazing thing anyone has ever said to me.
I will never forget that moment.
