A day to Remember!

Although the day started off a little rough with a visit to the hospital... it ended perfectly!! The crazy moments started with bad abdominal cramping and intense lower back pain. I called my doctor to see if I could take any other medication to help with the pain. She was concerned about it and wanted me to go to the hospital and get checked and monitored. Thankfully we got rushed into labor and delivery right away so we didn't have to wait at all. however, we didn't get any information for a few hours. They monitored me and saw that I was having small rhythmic contractions. They also did some other tests and a rather painful procedure to get lab results on the fluids that I was losing just to make sure it wasn't amniotic fluid. Thankfully it wasn't!! Turns out that I have had an infection for 6 months that had gotten so bad it was affecting my syatic nerve!!! I was so gad to know that this pain can be taken care of!! After being watched for an hour or so and noticing that the contractions were not getting any worse they gave us the okay to leave just in time to make it to our party! We ended up only being 30 min. late :)
David and I had so much fun celebrating out birthdays together with so many wonderful close friends and loving family!! Between great food, amAzing cakes and ROCK BAND and visiting the event could have lasted all night :) Overall it was a great day and to know that so many of our friends and family were praying for us and our baby made us realize just how blessed we are!!!

The doctor has encouraged me not to go up and down the stairs as much just because it can increase the contractions... i didn't realize how much I went back and forth up and down stairs all day. So while I am on "stairs rest" Gracie is grounded :) I told her she has to stay for another three months!!!!

Thanks for all your love and prayers!
Amanda

oh my word Amanda! I am so glad you and Gracie are ok! I bet you were scared out of your mind there for a while. Well, I am glad you made it to your party and I hope you don't go through any more illness or hospital visits before you meet Gracie. :) Karilee
