David's uncle was diagnosed with cancer around Christmas and 39 days later went to be with the Lord. I am so grateful David was able to fly out to California to say goodbye... not many people get that opportunity especially when family members/friends pass so quickly. God knew exactly when He wanted his son home and though it is hard to understand, it is so comforting to know he is no longer suffering, but instead rejoicing in the presence of our Lord!!
Though it was terrible circumstances it is always nice and refreshing to be with family. David drove out the week before with his parents for the family grave side service and then the following weekend we drove with the girls out there for the memorial and celebration of life service! What an amazing life Uncle C lived... very full and spent all of it with his dear wife and sons!!
The girls did great on the drive... it was G's first roadtrip in big girl panties and she has NO accidents woohoo!! Ella was a little fussy (she rarely sleeps in the car) and once we got done at a stop she did NOT want to get back in... but one long nap, lunch and then we were there!!
Uncle C's siblings... all spending time together remembering him!
Ella playing at the party!
Gracie just ADORES her Auntie E!!!
Gracie giving Aunt M a rose!!
Family photos before we head home!
Hanging out with Ryan she thought it was so cool that he was a firefighter and kept asking to see his fire truck and ladder!
The whole clan missing J of course!
Some of our favorite people to stay with in San Diego... they truly have been blessed with the gift of hosting! We love you Aunt E and Uncle J can't wait to come visit again soon!
