SiMpLy BlEsSeD: Spring Break!

** This is not really a post... more like a NOVEL about our trip! Funny things I want to remember and pictures for our families to see! I am NOT going to apologize for it being so long haha enjoy!!!

We had the blessing again this year to go up a friend's cabin as a whole family (missing Dad... he had a great job opportunity and couldn't pass it up)

It was so different from the last time we went. The last time Ella was a few weeks old, I was getting up every couple hours to nurse and Gracie was just about to turn 2! This time we had FOUR grandkids... love cousin time!! My sister was the one getting up to nurse and Ella slept through the whole night (the second night, the first was a nightmare... I will explain)

We got in to Flag and went to Stromboli's a yummy pizza and calzone restaurant David's cousin took us to before we had kids! Then we all trickled into the cabin one by one depending on nap schedules and work... we were all "home" for the weekend around dinner time!

As soon as we got there the girls got their snow clothes on and we went sledding!

"I don't like it"

Want to go again... she shakes her head "No"

They had much more fun playing in the snow on the golf course than sledding... oh well maybe next winter!

After a short time we headed back in to hang out with Aunt Susie and wait for the Golden's to arrive!

As soon as they pulled in Dan had Emma bundled up and took her on her first sledding adventure!

All warm and cozy!!

The Chapman's arrived and Mom and Aunt Sue started dinner! We had a delicious italian meal complete with pasta, salad, and a bunch of different wines to try! For those of you who like the Cupcake brand of wine.. have you tried the Angel Food Cake?! I am not a wine drinker I prefer sweet and sparkling but the peach champagne was definitely a favorite of mine YUM!

I attempted to make brownies but didn't realize that I baked them at 125 instead of 325 WHOOPS! We had a very interesting brownie and ice cream combo ha!

After the kiddos went down it was adult time so we all gathered to play a little cops and mofia.. Gracie kept giving the game away and we were all a little tired and slap happy so we called it quits and went to bed!

** ENTER terrible night HERE**

Ella went down around 8 that evening. She had skipped her nap because she NEVER sleeps in the car and crashed right away. We got into bed around 11 and she woke up... she was crying and crying so I brought her into bed with us. She just lay there giggling and smiling.. so I put her back in her crib... more crying more like WAILING and SCREECHING! By 2 am she was over tired and hysterical she would scream... stop for a few seconds and then start all over again! I took her out to change her diaper and then put her back in her crib more SCREAMING! She didn't want ANYTHING to do with Daddy she just wanted me... so I lay sitting up in bed with her sleeping on my chest (bring back newborn memories)... for about 30 min. Then I put her back in her crib and she SCREAMED again. By that time, around 3 I went in and got some tylenol.. thinking her ears hurt from elevation or her skin itched from eczema still or even teething since she was getting a few new molars... Of course at that hour I couldn't find the medicine dropper so I had to use the little cup I had to pretty much toss it down her throat as I leaned her back ahhh! After that fiasco I lay in bed again sitting up with her on my chest... by 4 she was ZONKED and I transfered her back to her crib SUCCESS!

THEN... Gracie woke up around 5 with a cough attack! We pulled her in bed with us but she kept coughing, hacking in our faces... so David went and slept on the floor in the sound proof room and I took her to the bathroom for some cough medicine. Then I slept on the floor while she was sprawled out in the big bed all by herself!! Ahhhhh

David and I both woke up around 7 surprisingly awake and went straight to the coffee!!!

Quite.A.Night... and yet we still want another baby ha!

The next morning! It was our turn to make the meal. We made Coach's Oats multigrain pancakes (BEST PANCAKES I HAVE EVER HAD) turkey bacon and coffee with homemade coffee creamer! It was delightful! We enjoyed a yummy breakfast and planned out our day! Briella was learning to fishy kiss and had fun kissing everyone!

The girls wanted to go back out and TRY sledding again so we did..

They once again had more fun building a mini snowman then sledding with mama!

After sledding it was grilled cheese and tomato soup made by the Chapman's and nap time we were NOT going to skip this haha!

The guys all watched a movie and the girls hung out chatting and talking! Since I had not gotten much sleep, My sweet Mom offered to play with Gracie while I snuck away and took a short nap! Dinner was a joint effort.. grilling steaks, salad, grilled asparagus and mac n cheese for the girls! Some more yummy wines and cheesecakes for dessert!!!

We bathed the cousins together and put them to bed!

Then we all got together in the theater room and watched a movie! THIS time we were smart enough to put Ella's crib in the walk in closet so IF she did wake up we could shut the door and she wouldn't see us ignoring her! It was wonderful and we ALL got a great night's sleep!

That next morning the Golden's made a great veggie and scramble!! Perfect way to end our weekend at the cabin! I snapped some family photos and then we all one by one left to go home!
