I LOVE my whiney clingy one year old!!

She is obsessed with DUCKS!!! These are the ones at the mall.. she looks at their eyes and then giggles... so funny!!
"Gracelyn, what does the duckie look like?" SHE OpENS HER EYES WIDE!!

Lately Gracelyn has had a small fever, runny nose and has been pulling on her ears a lot!!! Originally we had planned on getting her ears pierced around 5 months but that cam and gone... now we are glad we are waiting another year or two!! She is always pulling on her ears and sticking her fingers in her ears leaving behind cuts and gashes :( Although I really thought she was fighting a cold and ear infection I was RELIEVED to find out her ears looked "perfect" as the Dr. said at her last appointment. Not only were here ears fine but it WAS really just teething after all. It all started to make sense as the ...crying herself to sleep... nights began and another molar poked its little head out!! Now she is working on her TENTH TOOTH!! I remember the first time I saw a tooth... oh how the days fly by!!

One thing I have LOVED about these molars is that my baby ... umm.. I mean my toddler :( has become a clingy sunggle bunny!!! I love that she will just walk over to me and climb into my lap! Or jump on me and put her arms around my neck... my favorite of course is the fact that she wants to be held ALL THE TIME!! Of course this is tough when I need to make dinner or get some other things done but coming from a Mama that never had a "snuggle bunny" I LOVE IT!

I love watching her learn new things!! For example, her walking. Just a week ago she was taking the same 6 steps and then crawling the rest. Now she mainly walks everywhere and has even mastered walking with shoes on!! She is starting to look more and more like a little girl with her "longer" hair in pig tails walking away from me :( Along with walking she has found her INDEPENDENCE!!! Let me just say... she will make it CLEAR so don't you forget it! She doesn't like getting dressed, she would rather feed herself with the spoon even if that means that the food falls off before it gets to her mouth!! SHE wants to turn the pages of the book and her new one... playing with her laptop. She got a pretend baby laptop from our friends at bible study and though she loves playing the songs and pushing the buttons... SHE wants to be the one to shut the laptop... even if mommy's hand is in it... even if mommy just opened it up for the 1000th time ;)

I don't know what it is about the "year mark" but it truly seems like she KNOWS she is older. Somehow, and I have no idea where she got this from... but she plays "tag" a little too rough ;) She likes to SMACK her baby cousin in the head and say "TA" and the other day when I was hanging out with one of my best friends and her little 3 month old (Gigi's betrothed to him ;) She will go up to the bouncer look at him, then SMACK him in the face... and say "Tag" My oh my... what a fun game ;)

Even though sometimes she would rather throw her chicken nuggets on the floor, or feed her banana to the dog, or "tag" ME in the face... she is my sweet, outgoing, lovable and VERY FRIENDLY baby girl that blows the BEST KISSES ever!! I am SO thankful to watch her grow and learn new things each day, and I can't wait to wake each morning to my smiling squinty eyed sweetheart!
