Everyone knows how important it is to choose a name for your child. When we were pregnant with Gracelyn we were both 100% sold on it! Once we got pregnant again we went through what felt like thousands of names and were never able to agree on one that we both LOVED! David likes more traditional names and I like more unique names so deciding on one is really tough for us. One night David shared with that he likes Greek names... well Greek IS unique so I was really excited to look at some in hopes of finding a name for our sweet girl. Well we started at A and just went down the list... when we came to Adara what we thought was pronounced uh-dar-uh we decided that we would let it sit and see if we really liked it. It definitely started to grow on me, David liked it a lot from the start.
Sure we heard lots of opinions about it and it was called "different" at one point but that didn't bother us.. we knew choosing a unique name would raise comments like that. Well last night we were researching it a little more and didn't even realize that it was pronounced au-dra. Now when I first found this out I didn't think much about it, but when I told David he didn't like the fact that Adara the way we would say it would be a made up name. Since I wasn't 100% in love with it as it was we decided that we will go back to the beginning and keep looking for a name that both of us LOVE since our child will have to live with it for their entire life!
We have gone back to a few that we had liked in the past and I think we are going to use one of them... but because we don't know for sure we have decided that we are going to just keep it a secret and reveal it when she is born. That way if we do decide to change it again only we will know and it will make it so exciting when she arrives!!!
Now we have to teach Gigi to call my tummy "baby sissy" instead of "Daddy" that was her way of saying Addi ;) Thankfully she is at a really teachable age!!!

I LOVE unique names too! I have a ginormous list for our future 2nd child. Baby naming is so fun! We are also going to keep our 2nd child's name a secret until they are born and may not even choose a name until we see him/her. Have fun choosing a name. Can't wait to hear what it is!
I am all with you about unique names! LOVE THEM. We got sooo many opinions about Teagans name and were actually debating changing it because of all the opinions! I'm so glad we stuck with it though! :) You will find the PERFECT name for your sweet little girl!
