Skating, waiting and more blood work!!

Over the past year I have really missed figure skating. I did it before I met David and had to stop do to my injury in Alaska. David and I have been skating twice since then and I just miss it so much. I still have my beautiful (way too expensive) skates that I bought right before I got hurt so they have never really been used aside from open skate a time or two.

I was looking into the cost... which is probably one of the most expensive hobbies ever... and surprisingly it has gone down a little. By a little I mean 6 dollars :) Hey! 6 dollars is at least something! So I started to look into the program and when it was offered with what trainers and what time ect. Turns out not only is it less expensive but you get an additional day each week. I was so excited!!! Then I looked at the days... the ONLY days my sister has off and she is ALWAYS wanting to watch Gracelyn!!

Everything seems to be working together and of course my wonderful husband is on board also! If he had questioned it, it would have been hard for me to start, so thankfully I have his support.

If everything goes well with my test results i.e. blood work (I will explain next) then it looks like I will be starting the season in May!

Now some of you may be wondering what blood work I had done. Well to make a LONG LONG story short after the complications we had during the delivery (hemoraging and losing half of my blood) of Gracelyn my Dr. sent in my placenta for test results to see if I had a certain infection. The test results came back negative but everything pointed to the infection being present. After receiving the strange results, my Dr. then referred me to a hematology and oncology Dr. hoping to get some answers.
After listing ALL of my symptoms, waiting an hour in the waiting room and then being taken to his office to wait another hour the Dr. sat down and listed all of his concerns. Thankfully the Dr. had a rubicks cube on his desk so David stayed entertained :) Geeze! he listed so many things half of which David and I had never heard of. finally after about 30 min. he sent me down to get 22 TUBES OF BLOOD TAKEN!!!!!! man alive I hate needles and blood and all of the above! Thankfully they were able to use a little vacuum that went fairly fast so they were done when I thought they were still on the first tube. Next week I have to go get more blood work and platelets taken (whatever those are) which they warned me will be about another couple of hours of waiting for those
:( In about four weeks they will call us to come have another Appt and discuss the results. If you think of us in this next month pray for negative results!!!

Just in time to HOPEFULLY start the skating season :)

Don't worry you KNOW we will keep you posted :)
I will leave you will a picture of the beautiful Gracelyn!!!

If they will let me donate blood that can go to you let me know... I have a universal type of blood so anyone can receive my blood even if their type doesnt match mine.
