One Week Old!

David and I can't believe that Gracelyn is already a week old. Granted we spent four days in the hospital, but still one week this precious baby has been in our life. We talk all the time how it feels like we have always been parents. Always had a car seat in the car, always had baby bottles in the sink, and the nigh time feedings well you get the idea. We are so overjoyed and can't imagine life without little Gracie. The Lord has been so good to us!

Some things that we have experienced this week:
~ Daddy needs to wait until Gracie is COMPLETELY finished pooping before changing her diaper. Now four times he has changed her and put the new diaper under her just in time for her finale :)
~ If mommy sleeps while nursing, so will Gracelyn.
~The velcro swaddle blankets saved our lives!!! She will only sleep if she is swaddled and she is SO strong that she always finds a way out of her blanket and startles herself awake, so the swaddle blanket holds down her arms but leaves a pocket for her feet to kick and move around... like I said... LIFE SAVOR :)
~ Staple removal from a C section is no fun :(
~ Gracelyn LOVES tummy time and it is amazing to see her begin to scoot her little body across the mat and roll over onto her side... she is a little squirmy wormy!
~ The HUGE soothie pacifiers that they give you in the hospital have remained her favorite. We have so many cute other binkies but she won't take them since she was in the NICU and got used to them... thank goodness they come in pink and purple too :)

As you can see we are just loving the moments spent with our baby girl... Even the challenging moments teach us things and allow for us to call out to the Lord for guidance and direction and most of all PATIENCE!

One week already! My time goes by so quickly! Just looking at her pictures I can already tell she has changed a little bit just within a week. She is gorgeous! I love hearing your parenting stories! Much love!

I love reading about your first week! Kaiden wouldn't take any other pacifier besides the soothie either. They look so funny in their mouth, but oh well. Whatever makes them happy! and yes, those swaddle thingys are amazing. Using the blankets became useless! I am so glad that nursing is going so well! That was so frustrating for me! Kaiden took FOREVER to get that down! :)
